“The Mother of All Picnics”

For those of you that weren't able to attend, we had a wonderful picnic on the Canal at Jerry and Carolyn Shimek's vacation home at "Stetsons" on the 1st of August.  Many thanks to Jerry and Carolyn for being generous and fantastic hosts.  And thank you to the many classmates who assisted in making this happen.  The 42 people who attended enjoyed a beautiful day, quality burgers, dogs & oysters from the BBQ, great side dishes brought by attendees, and most importantly a relaxed atmosphere for leisurely visiting with classmates.  The day ended all to quickly.  The good news is Jerry says "Let's do this again!"

Retired from U. S. Coast Guard Married 1
Update....not much has changed!  Well, number one grand daughter now 3 is a joy.  Carol and I continue to enjoying retirement in the country outside Port Townsend with an occasional venture onto Puget Sound. My mother Murial lives in Poulsbo and sister Kristi is in Portland area where she teaches tennis. Our daughter April is married to Erich Cross, teaches 4th grade, and is right on the way in Ellensburg for our trips to Montana. We enjoy a second home in Townsend MT for a couple months a year and some time tending to property in the Big Belt mountains and a change of scenery. I am fortunate to be able to stay active, play tennis, mountain bike, hike in the Olympics , run, sail, horseback ride, even fish some. And my big investment five years ago - a slalom ski. Can't say it gets much use but cousin Harley and I keep trying.  I have actually used it (to ski) at least once every year since.  Bought a second kayak this year and am on about the same pace. Still can't dance! Looking forward to the reunion and renewing friendships.  Interested to hear what you all have been up to.  Cheers! Send Laurie a MessageSend Laurie a Message

Staff RN and energy healer Divorced 2
Finally getting around to checking out this site. What a good way to keep up! (and this is from a very NON computer junkie). I'm looking forward to retiring someday and being able to do energy healing full time, but for now, the pressures of mortgages (I bought my brother's half of our family property in '04), etc. have kept me full time at the tiny Bremerton Naval Hospital, and recently also per diem at the much bigger Harrison Medical Center. It's a good thing I still do love nursing (not the paperwork). My two sons have both moved to Oregon in the last few years, one is a HS English teacher and writer (married with wonderful "grand pets" only for me) in St. Helen's. and the other a musician and very up-and-coming computer software writer in Eugene. My husband of 30 years (now ex for 11) and I parted amicably, so we still keep in touch for significant news and events. I still have a major interest in music (no bassoon to play, drat) so sing a lot with groups at work and choir at church, as well as any other opportunity that presents. I go to concerts and opera with my local good friend Patrick, but he only squaredances (which I do a lot of now including contrasquare), so I join others for just bopping around. I'm hoping this reunion will have opportunities for both song and dance (it's still my favorite form of exercise). I've acquired a portable table, so getting around to do healing work at other homes and places is easier, but time is still too cramped to do a lot. Instead, I do a lot of knitting and crocheting for auctions, gifts, shelters, on commission, etc. with healing prayers knit in. Anyone want to talk? I still work nights, but leave the ringer off downstairs, so messages anytime are fine - I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Send Linda a MessageSend Linda a Message
