“The Mother of All Picnics”

For those of you that weren't able to attend, we had a wonderful picnic on the Canal at Jerry and Carolyn Shimek's vacation home at "Stetsons" on the 1st of August.  Many thanks to Jerry and Carolyn for being generous and fantastic hosts.  And thank you to the many classmates who assisted in making this happen.  The 42 people who attended enjoyed a beautiful day, quality burgers, dogs & oysters from the BBQ, great side dishes brought by attendees, and most importantly a relaxed atmosphere for leisurely visiting with classmates.  The day ended all to quickly.  The good news is Jerry says "Let's do this again!"

Retired 3
After my husband died suddenly nearly three years ago, and after I shut down the law office, I became officially retired. I worked in our law office for 26 years. I also worked for our U. S. Congressman and for our State Senator. Law and politics have been my interests and passions. I have lived in my Denair, California home since 1972. My daughter, two sons, and five grandchildren live in the area, which keeps me in central California. I am fortunate to have many interests (woodworking, gardening, reading, movies, politics, news junkie) and good friends. My grandchildren and their activities keep me pretty busy too. I fly to Washington every 6 weeks or so to look after my father who lives on the North Shore of Hood Canal. My mother still lives in Grapeview.  When I am in Washington, I often get to visit with Linda Spooner and Laurie Somers. Email has given me the gift of reconnecting with a number of classmates and friends of long ago. Fran Clifton visited me for a week in April. We blazed a path through San Francisco for a few days. Louise Paulson flew in from Atlanta in May. We traveled the Yosemite-to-Carmel circuit together. It is a delightful experience to discover how much people stay the same, even after all these years have passed. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion, and I send a THANK YOU to Ken, and the reunion committee for their hard work. Send Linda a MessageSend Linda a Message
